Continue on through the townships of Anglesea and Aireys Inlet to Lorne, a resort-style town combining restaurants and shops with historic properties and natural attractions such as the Angahook-Lorne State Park. Approaching Apollo Bay, the contrast between rugged coast and inland forest becomes more spectacular. The stretch between Lorne and Apollo Bay is considered by many to be the most picturesque section of the Great Ocean Road. The highway is carved into sheer cliffs that drop away into the ocean, offering commanding views of the waves swelling and crashing onto the rocks and beaches below. This small fishing and farming village is also an excellent base for exploring the waterfalls and rainforests in the Otway National Park whilst enjoying the fresh seafood and local produce. Spectacular shapes in the nearby cliffs, including Loch Ard Gorge, the Arch, the Blowhole and London Bridge as well as Wreck Beach are also not to be missed. Adventurous sightseers can take the boardwalks that lead to lookouts and great views of the coastline, which is dotted with plaques and signs that mark the places where more than 160 ships floundered along the aptly named Shipwreck Coast. An exhilarating helicopter experience over the coastline and rock formations will mark an unforgettable experience! This leg of the journey ends at Warrnambool, the only city on the Shipwreck Coast. Set on the edge of Lady Bay, Warrnambool boasts a colourful history, which can be explored at the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum. Whales migrate along the part of the coastline and can be spotted from lookouts and on boat trips between May and October. The nightly "Shipwrecked" sound and light show is a definite highlight! Day 3: Warrnambool - Halls Gap

Discover more about maritime history at Port Fairy, a busy fishing port and one of the state's earliest settled coastal villages. Take the time to explore the town's streets and over 50 nineteenth-century buildings classified by the National Trust. From Port Fairy, the Great Southern Touring Route turns north, away from the coast and towards the natural beauty of the Grampians mountain range. Dunkeld is a beautiful village on the edge of the Grampians. A highlight is the Royal Mail Hotel which has won many accolades for its local produce driven menus. The Grampians National Park is famous for some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia and is the perfect place for both relaxation and adventure.. Along with its natural beauty, the Grampians are home to the largest collection of Aboriginal rock paintings in Victoria. The town of Halls Gap is the tourist hub of the region. Halls Gap nestles right in the heart of the majestic Grampians National Park with its wildflowers and waterfalls, alongside local village stores, alluring wineries and colourful galleries. Explore the scenic drives, lookouts, and waterfalls in the beautiful Grampians National Park. Brambuk, a National Park & Cultural Centre located 2.5 kilometres South of Halls Gap shops, is a good starting point for anyone interested in exploring the park. Learn about the diverse culture of the indigenous people at Brambuk and join a tour of the many ancient aboriginal rock art sites in the area. Explore the park by foot and drive to walks such as MacKenzie Falls, Hollow Mountain and The Pinnacle which offer a wonderful variety of vegetation and landscapes. View Australian native animals in the wild throughout the Grampians National Park or visit the Halls Gap Zoo on Halls Gap-Ararat Road. You will get to see kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats, emus, possums and dingoes. Don't miss exotic animals like meerkats, giraffe and red pandas in a bushland setting. Overnight: Halls Gap.

From here the route turns east to Ballarat, one of Victoria's largest cities. Built with the wealth of the gold rush, much of the opulence of the era is still on display in the grand public buildings, hotels and historic streetscapes. Ballarat was the site of the world's largest deposit of alluvial gold and also of the Eureka Stockade - the famous uprising of miners against the government licensing system. Step back to the gold-mining era of the 1850s at Sovereign Hill. See blacksmiths at work, people dressed in Victorian costumes, pan for gold or go down an underground mine. Get up close with Australian wildlife at Ballarat Wildlife Park. Overnight : Ballarat

    Overview:

One of the easiest and most relaxing ways to see Jeju Island is by renting a car. The top tourist destination for leisurely vacations in Korea, Jeju Island is perfect for a driving tour with an efficient road network and beautiful scenery. Some travelers may be tempted to drive faster than the limit, but because of the island’s winding roads, speeding is strictly forbidden. The best road for driving is probably Route 12, the beltway around the island. Route 12 provides access to coastal roads along the way, so travelers can enjoy a fantastic drive along the coast with a view of the emerald-colored sea and soaring gulls. Its stunning natural scenery of the island has made it a favorite filming location for numerous Korean TV mini-series, many of which are popular around the world. This Best Tour of Jeju includes some of these filming locations as well as other scenic destinations.

    • The speed limit in Jeju Island is 50 km/hr in towns, 60km/hr on two-lane roads, and 80km/hr on four-lane roads.
    • An International Driver's Licence is required to drive on Jeju Island

    • Day 1: Arrival - Incheon - Jeju
Upon arrival in Jeju, pass through Gate No.5 on the 1st floor at Jeju International Airport, cross the zebra crossing to find Parking Lot E1 to meet the staff of Rent-A-Car to collect your vehicle. Present your International Driver's License for registration, and sign the rental agreement. (Note you may have to pay carpark fees upon exit from the carpark). Make your way to your accommodation and check in. If time permits, suggest visiting Jeju Love Land, and the Mysterious Road.
      Day 2: East Coast Jeju
This morning, drive along the Woljeong Coastal Road in the northeast area of Jeju with the beautiful sea on one side and exotic views with wind turbines on the other side. We recommend visiting Gimnyeong Maze Park, designed by a world-renowned maze designer. For a little adventure, proceed to the UNESCO World Heritage - Manjanggul Cave (carry a torch and jacket. Proper footwear required). Continue along to SeongSan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), a mere 20mins hike to the top from the carpark. The trail is steep, but views from the path leading up are excellent. When walking up Sunrise Peak the women divers are along the trail which branches out to the left. Follow it down into the small bay. Jeju's women divers put on two daily shows at 1:30pm and 3pm. Further down the coast is Seopjikoji, one of the most scenic views with the bright yellow canola and Seongsan Sunrise Peak as a backdrop. Turn into Route 97 till Seongeup Folk Village, showing the unique culture of Jeju Island. The Trick Art Museum is where one can take pictures with various fun poses blending nicely with the exhibits.
      Day 3: 516 Road - Seogwipo
This morning, go on route 1131 and stop at MokSeokwan, a small park with its many tales concerning stones. Continue to 516 Forest Tunnel, the first national road in Jeju which directly links Jeju City to Seogwipo, reducing the travel time between the southern and northern parts of the island to less than an hour. Snow in winter and the brilliant red and yellow leaves in autumn make driving on this road a mystical experience. Avoid pulling over at any spot because the passing cars are dangerous. There are two parking lots at the entrance of Seongpanak. Please make sure you park there before taking pictures. There are 3 most famous waterfalls in Jeju, all located in Seogwipo-si – Jeongbang, Cheonjiyeon and Cheonjeyeon waterfalls. Cheonjeyeon is the only one falling directly to the sea in Korea and is often the most visited amongst the three. Other attractions we recommend in Seogwipo-si include Oedolgae, a rock standing out in the sea and so named for its loneliness. Jusangjeolli Cliff of Jungmun Daepo is a interesting formation of vertical shaped pillars in a rectangular or hexagonal shape, a result due to sudden contraction of thick molten lava flowing from an active volcanic crater cools rapidly. Find time to visit the Teddy Bear Museum, a collection of bear’s with history of more than 100 years. Return to the hotel (for 4 Days itinerary) en-route stopping at Mt. Sarabong to catch the sunset, or proceed to the airport (for 3 days itinerary), making sure you have enough time to fill up your fuel tank and return your car to the rental office.
Day 4: West Coast Jeju - Departure
Have a relaxing day today before flying back to Singapore. Start the day at Bunjae Artpia (Spirited Garden) - one of the major tourist attraction sites on Jeju Island and listed as one of “the most beautiful gardens in the world. Then, make your way to O’Sulloc Tea House Museum to learn about the world of tea drinking and its ancient principles of balancing both mind and body through the fresh tastes of its teas and its soothing interior. Featuring large glass windows and an overall earthy feel, the shop is both a popular gathering for the young and an informal exhibition hall for traditional tea accessories. Continue along route 1121 to Mt. Sanbangsan. It is said that the peak of Mt.Hallasan where Baekrokho Lake now exists was taken off and thrown away, which then became Mt. Sanbangsan. The myth describes how unlike other mountains on Jejudo Island, this mountain does not have a crater. The 5m-high rock cave at the cliff on the southwest side of the mountain was originally called Sanbanggul Cave, but it is called a temple now because it possesses a Buddhist statue. You may also like to spend the rest of the day at one of the beaches that Jeju Island is famous for. Hyeopjae Beach is probably the most popular beach in Jeju, the broken shells mixed in the sand make this beach shine in a silver colour. Samyang Black Sand Beach is known for its effective pain easing black sand from arthritis to skin diseases. Before heading to the airport, stop by Yongduam. ‘Yong’ means 'dragon', ‘du’ means 'head' and 'am' means 'rock. Yongduam was thus named as it resembles a dragon’s head. Make your way to the Airport, and return car hire at Parking Lot E1, hand over car keys and agreement letter to staff of Rent-A-Car. Staff will check condition of car. (Remember to top up car petrol/gas to full tank)
